Światowy Dzień SM – 30 czerwca

Polskie Towarzystwo Stwardnienia Rozsianego (PTSR) – ogólnopolska organizacja pacjencka działająca na rzecz środowiska osób ze stwardnieniem rozsianym (SM), zaprasza do wspólnego świętowania Światowego Dnia SM, który obchodzony jest 30 maja w 68 krajach na całym świecie.

Stwardnienie rozsiane (SM) to nieuleczalna choroba neurologiczna o podłożu autoimmunologicznym o różnorodnych objawach, która dotyka 50 tysięcy osób w Polsce, a na całym świecie – około 2,5 miliona. Choroba zaczyna się najczęściej między 20. a 40. rokiem życia, kobiety chorują dwa razy częściej niż mężczyźni.

Światowy Dzień SM daje poczucie wspólnoty osobom z SM oraz całej społeczności zaangażowanej w walkę ze stwardnieniem rozsianym, a także podnosi świadomość społeczną na temat tej choroby.

Tegoroczny temat Światowego Dnia SM „SM. Więzi, kontakty, relacje” podkreśla rolę relacji międzyludzkich, jako elementu radzenia sobie z chorobą i walki z różnymi przeciwnościami. Zachęca do wspólnego podejmowania działań, do wzajemnego wspierania się, do współpracy z różnymi instytucjami i światem nauki, do walki z wykluczeniem. Hasło nabiera szczególnej mocy w dobie panującej epidemii COVID-19, która nie tylko utrudniła dostęp do świadczeń zdrowotnych, ale także zmusiła wiele osób z SM do izolacji, zwiększyła poczucie osamotnienia i nasiliła obawy o przyszłość.

Z okazji obchodów przypinamy pomarańczową wstążeczkę – symbol solidarności z osobami chorującymi na stwardnienie rozsiane! W tym roku zachęcamy również do skorzystania z przygotowanej przez PTSR nakładki na zdjęcie profilowe na Facebooku Polskiego Towarzystwa Stwardnienia Rozsianego. W ten sposób, mimo odosobnienia, do którego zmusza nas panująca epidemia, będziemy mogli świętować razem.
